Natural Science: Las Artistas 2024 Collection

This collection, showcased in the 2024 Las Artistas Art and Fine Craft Show alongside the UTEP Metals group, marked my final collaboration as a student. Las Artistas is an annual event with deep roots in our community, originally founded by UTEP Metals alumni. This year was particularly special, as we celebrated its 30th anniversary—a milestone that made my participation even more meaningful.

The collection is inspired by the golden ratio, a timeless expression of balance and beauty found throughout nature. Each piece is meticulously crafted and hand-formed, carefully shaped to reflect this universal pattern. Drawing inspiration from the Ammonite fossil, the designs capture a sense of organic harmony, inviting the viewer to reflect on the intricate relationship between art and the natural world.

Being part of this show has been a highlight of my journey. Even before I officially participated as a Metals student, I volunteered, drawn to the energy and craftsmanship of the event. Through this experience, I explored production work—something I was eager to dive into and thoroughly enjoyed. Now, as I transition from student to artist, I hope to return and apply this year as an emerging artist, continuing this connection with a show that has meant so much to me.

Commissions for any of these pieces are more than welcomed. Feel free to contact me!
