Painting 1 was another class I had to take online, and one of the few I deeply regretted not experiencing in person. While the course was straightforward and somewhat basic, there were moments when I longed for the immediacy of live instruction—the ability to ask specific questions as they arose, or to receive real-time feedback on technique and approach. Art, after all, often feels most alive when shared in the moment.
Painting is, in many ways, the epitome of art, and this course reminded me why. There’s something almost hypnotic about the process: the way paint mixes, blends, and spreads across the canvas, how a single stroke of the brush or a subtle flick of the wrist can transform an entire composition. Each movement feels intentional, yet simultaneously full of possibility.
Though I wish I could have had more of the tactile, collaborative experience that comes with in-person classes, this course left a lasting impression. I gained valuable foundational skills and a deeper appreciation for painting’s expressive power—lessons I know will resonate with me and inform my work for years to come.
